Sunshine, friends and princesses…oh my! I had the chance to stop by the Fairy Tales Day Camp session in Broomfield last week, and I found myself smiling the entire time! This five-day session (7/9-7/13) gives girls a break from reality and allows them to create their own fairy tale world! Girls in grades 1-5 had a blast wearing crowns, making tutus and fairy wings, playing games and being with their friends! The younger girls had a blast hanging out with the teenage Program Aides, who did a fantastic job in their leadership role.
What I really loved about this session is that the girls were able to make their own lunch for the day! Each of the girls helped the Program Aides in prepping for lunch, which the day I was there included Frito Pie and a fruit salad. I think this is a great way to give girls the confidence to try things on their own. Not only did the girls have fun, but they learned new things, also!
