Fort Collins Girl Scout named 7 Everyday Hero

Girl Scouts of Colorado is extremely proud that Fort Collins Girl Scout Lauren Schneider has been named a 7 Everyday Hero for her work in earning the highest award in Girl Scouts, the Gold Award! The 7 Everyday Hero is a community hero award program managed through ABC Channel 7 in Denver.

For her Gold Award project, Lauren created hundreds of Med-Bugs to give to children at area hospitals. The inspiration for her project was a hospital stay she had as a child. “I spent a month being treated at Children’s Mercy in Kansas City. I was terrified and many days the activities and small gifts made me feel less scared,” said Lauren.

The countless hours Lauren spent on earning this prestigious Girl Scout honor is chronicled on a Facebook page she put together.

Well done, Lauren. I was not able to make it to the Sewing Circle to help out with the stitching, but I was cheering you on anyway.
