Cadette, Senior, Ambassador Journey tip of the week – take a trip!

Cadette/Senior/Ambassador Journey Tip #2 – Attending council events, series, and travel programs is a great way to enhance or supplement the Journey activities you are doing during troop meetings. Here are a few council programs and how they tie to the Journeys. To read more about these events and to register go to: http://www.girlscoutsofcolorado.org/activities

It’s Your World – Change It (Series) – This series of 8 meetings will directly link to the Cadette aMAZE, Senior GirlTopia, and Ambassador Your Voice, Your World Journeys. Girls will take a more global perspective on human rights issues and get prepared for a take action project.

Winter Weekend (travel opportunity) – This trip will get girls exploring the great outdoors – an important component of the “It’s Your Planet – Love It” Journey series.

Golden Goddess: Eating for Beauty and Health – At this event, girls will discover more about health and wellbeing, and the impact it has on our self-esteem and body image. Link this event to the “MEdia”, “Sow What”, and “Justice” Journeys as you teach girls about living healthy.

Girls Govern & Civic Girls – These events will engage girls in public policy issues. Understanding government and what it takes to work together in a community will help girls through their take action projects in any of the Cadette, Senior, or Ambassador Journeys.

Belize – By travelling internationally, girls are exposed to new cultures and ideas and seeking challenge and adventure. This trip will be a great supplement to the ”It’s Your Story – Tell It” Journey series.

What ideas or experiences do you have with linking council or service unit events to Journey themes?
