Recruitment Night!
If you are interested in learning more about our
Cadette Girl Scout troop, please contact us!
Cadette Troop 548 is looking for new members. We are a middle school troop with current members at 4 different middle schools with girls active in scout events, hiking, swimming, working on the Silver Award and other outdoor activities. Our unit is Mountain View in the Golden, Arvada, Wheat Ridge area but we are open to all middle schools.
Our meeting format will be one meeting at the beginning of the month for Girl Scout activities and the girls will organize our activity schedule for the 2nd meeting of the month. The activities will be Girl Scout related or just fun related. Choices will be swimming, Girl Scout activities, bowling, ice skating, roller skating, a movie, an overnight, mall shopping afternoon, etc., whatever the girls think would be fun to do. The day and time for the 2nd meeting is not fixed to a specific day or time, whatever works best for the activity. The girls will be responsible for getting this set up well in advance so we can all plan for the activities.
We will have a parent/girl meeting on Monday September 24th from 4-5pm at the Susan Duncan Y. We have a proposed Breathe Journey (Cadette level Journey) Overnight in November 2012 at Lincoln Academy to earn most of the requirements for the Breathe Journey. We are planning to go to the circus in October with more information coming on this event. For those interested, we will have a Silver Award group starting in January 2013 along with other badge work and leadership training as desired
Our proposed summer trip is the Black Hills in South Dakota. We hope to do a weeklong trip up there to see the sights and take part in the activities.
